Warp, I never used to believe in putting people on ignore either. Like most people, I thought I'd put up with the endless rhetoric in hopes of eventually reading something worthwhile from the offending posters.
However, I've had a change of heart. I have assigned technical indicators to each person that posts. As you know, technical indicators may not get you out at the top, you may leave some cash on the table. But, on a risk to reward basis, it's usually best to leave that cash on the table, that you think may be out there, and lock in your profits.
It's the same process with individual posters. On a "waste my time to reward basis," I have decided to place people on ignore, who have an agenda. Ray has an agenda, hence my placing him on ignore. As much as I liked Slider, his agenda was distracting, therefore I had to place him on ignore. The same applies to several other folks.
To be a successful trader in a bear market, one must focus on the task at hand. I don't need the distractions. The ignore feature, here on SI, and at Yahoo, has been a tremendous tool when measuring a "waste of time to reward ratio."
Futures down "big time" in premarket. Looks like some profit taking is occurring.
