I think all share splits are silly, reverse or not. They only change the number of shares outstanding, up or down, but nothing more. They don't create anything of value. Conventional share splits supposedly appeal to individual investors who feel that having more shares is meaningful even if the cost of those shares is proportionately less. Share splits do make it harder to calculate your tax basis if you've held a stock a number of years though. A reverse share split's only meaning for a Infospace shareholder is that their shares will continue to be listed on NASDAQ, but it won't change the economic worth of their stake in the company.
