Nextel Brazil Launches Wireless Corporate Email Service Powered by InfoSpace's Zero-Footprint Mobile Messaging Architecture
"NextelMail" Offers Secure Access to Corporate and Personal Email, Calendars, and Contacts Without the Need to Install and Maintain Additional Software or Hardware At the Corporate Site

BELLEVUE, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 8, 2002-- InfoSpace, Inc. (Nasdaq:INSP - News), a provider of wireless and Internet software and application services, today announced that Nextel Brazil has launched "NextelMail," a new service powered by InfoSpace that offers mobile professionals secure access to email and other critical enterprise information from their wireless device.

"Wireless email is the number one data request from business users in our subscriber base," said Rogerio Dienes, product and services director for Nextel Brazil. "InfoSpace offers a secure and feature-rich corporate email solution without the complexity, limitations and expense of solutions that require the installation and maintenance of hardware and software on the corporate network or the downloading of agents on to the user's PC."

InfoSpace's Corporate Email solution provides secure access to existing corporate messaging systems, such as Microsoft® Outlook(TM) or Lotus Notes(TM)/Domino(TM), as well as multiple personal email accounts, over a wide range of mobile devices. The solution integrates directly with a carrier's existing wireless data infrastructure to provide enterprises with a secure connection from which employees can view, reply, forward, send and delete email without the need to install and maintain costly hardware and software at the corporate site.

Users can configure the service themselves within minutes and set up alerts to notify them instantly of new personal or corporate email messages, appointments and task reminders. Alerts can be set with parameters to ensure users are only alerted to the information most important to them. The service also offers access to proprietary and standards-based personal email accounts, allowing users to view and manage all of their critical communications through a single interface.

"Mobile access to enterprise information is one of the key drivers of wireless data usage," said Jan Claesson, InfoSpace executive vice president, wireless. "We are supporting our carrier partners in their efforts to attract mobile professionals with a solution that reduces the sales cycle through fast and easy implementation, drives additional usage of both voice and data, and enables subscribers to upgrade to more advanced devices with no disruption of service."
