I love The Women, though I don't think of it so much as feminist as smart and realistic. There is that fantastic scene in "Showboat" where the sheriff comes to investigate a case of miscegenation, and the husband pricks his (mullato) wife's thumb and sucks some blood, so that he can truthfully say that he has a drop of Negro blood in him. There is a relatively obscure film with Spencer Tracy called "Bad Day at Black Rock" about racism directed against Asians. One stumbles over all sorts of things.......
