Companies universally see that the amount of money spent for proprietary r and d in that area is not smart, and the I2 is "sufficient" at this time to begin adoption.

I, of course, hope this is the case. However, if I may play devil's advocate, the "others" in this category may refuse to adopt the I2 since they will, eventually, become over-glorified box makers. Therefore, to the various vendors, differntiation is the key in order to arbitrarily hold ASPs high.

In some ways, I am disapppointed that Dell has not adopted the I2. Is this an admission of weakness? Or, has Dell performed research and believes that there will be little demand for I2 servers?
