Nine Energy Companies to Present Aug. 14 in Denver at Oil and Gas Investor Conference

DENVER, July 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Nine companies will make presentations on operations and strategies to institutional investors at the second annual Institutional Oil and Gas Conference sponsored by EnerCOM, Inc. and Kirkpatrick Energy Associates. The conference will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, at Top of the Rockies, the former Denver Petroleum Club.

Core Laboratories N.V. (Nasdaq:CRLBF) of Houston will open the presentations, followed by Forest Oil Corp. (Nasdaq:FOIL) of Denver, Newfield Exploration Co. (NYSE:NFX) of Houston, Forcenergy Inc. (NYSE:FEN) of Miami and Barrett Resources Corp. (NYSE:BRR) of Denver.

Gulf Canada Resources Ltd. (NYSE:GOU) of Denver will deliver the luncheon presentation, followed by St. Mary Land & Exploration Co. (Nasdaq:MARY) of Denver and Louis Dreyfus Natural Gas (NYSE:LD) of Oklahoma City. Pioneer Natural Resources Co., the company formed through the merger of Mesa Inc. (NYSE:MXP) of Irving, Texas, and Parker & Parsley Petroleum Co. (NYSE:PDP) of Midland, Texas, will conclude the presentations. Each presentation, including a question and answer session, will last about 40 minutes.

The conference is sponsored by EnerCOM, Inc., an investor relations and financial communications firm, and Kirkpatrick Energy Associates, an oil and gas investment banking firm. Both firms are based in Denver.

``Heightened activity across all segments of the oil and gas industry is prompting growth like never before, which is evident in this group of companies,'' EnerCOM President Greg Barnett said. ``This is a propitious time to hear strategy-talk straight from these leaders in the oil field, as well as their updates on recent acquisitions, mergers, expanded operating areas and financial results.''

``High-growth independents have been the theme of our conference series from day one,'' Sandy Kirkpatrick, president of Kirkpatrick Energy Associates, said. ``We're gratified that this year's presenting companies are such good examples of that ideal.''
