It's been a big mistake for everyone to believe that there was scientific evidence demonstrating that a low fat diet was healthy and would prevent obesity.

The article states convincingly that no such evidence exists, only extremely dubious extrapolation; and it shows that, statistically, as the American diet has lowered its percentage of fat, the American individual has raised his or hers.
