For you LT, buy & hold - value players ? Anyone toe-dipping in the Airlines ? Some stocks back down to Sept 11th lows: Check this chart out (looks like a Telcom stock (VBG): finance.yahoo.com I've nibbled a bit and will continue to do so into weakness... Airline LEAPS might not be a bad "mad money" play for those so inclined....imho; I don't think the Airlines are going to be the "vehicle" of choice for Terrorists going forward... WHY ? - no one is ever going to successfully complete a hi-jack mission again ? - Airlines and Airports are the focal point of the entire Homeland Security issue...greater impact is available elsewhere with litle defensive security. - more people are at sporting and cultural events...(sporting events worry me the most fwiw)...and either the food, or water supply and/or energy transmission/pipelines/powerplants, or National Monuments, or again the NYC Financial Center, or the seat of US Government in DC would continue to be the high profile targets. Ultimately, if it takes El-Al type of security to the outter perimeters of every US Airport... we'll do it. America is NEVER going to give up mobility and the freedom and convenience of airtravel... won't happen. Untill they start shooting mutliple planes out of the sky with Stinger Missles on a daily basis... Airlines will survive and there will ultimately be huge profits on buying this blow off imho.... just have to pick the survivors...and own a sector basket.
