You know, there is probably more common ground between us than you realize. By all accounts (yours) you are a savvy trader. By all accounts (mine) so am I. My trading time frame is just very different to yours. I don't like the pressure of having to be right all the time, 24/7. Too much work and fundamentally not possible.

Where we differ, I guess, is in what we think comes next for the US economy. I am parked in US equities because I believe we get seven more years of boom and I don't particularly care what the next six months bring. You appear to expect continued economic and stock market decline and a secular bull in gold. My opinion is that probability does not favor this.
