More Than 10X Better Performance Achieved in E-Commerce Applications Using Itanium 2 CAMBRIDGE, England, Jul 8, 2002 /PRNewswire from COMTEX/ -- Zeus(R) Technology, Ltd., the leading developer of mission-critical Web server technologies and solutions, and HP(R) (NYSE: HPQ chart, msgs) today announced immediate availability of a 64-bit optimized version of the flagship Zeus Web Server(TM) as optimized for the Intel(R) Itanium(R) 2 architecture and HP-UX(TM) 11i Operating System, as well as the Linux(R) Operating System. The new version of the Zeus Web Server is designed for optimized deployment on the newly-announced HP Server rx2600 and HP Server rx5670. On SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) transactions, typically used in securing payments on the Web, the Zeus /HP-UX Itanium 2 combination benchmarked at more than 750 SSL operation per second, compared to 175 SSL operations per second on Zeus/Linux and Pentium(R) III and 60 SSL operations per second on Zeus/Solaris and UltraSPARC(R) III.
HP-UX is a 64-bit UNIX(R) system that provides specific compatibility with Itanium 2, thanks to HP's co-development of the architecture with Intel. Zeus Web Server is the award-winning web server that has claimed the #3 position in |
