The last thing Intel needs is a bankrupt AMD. Regardless of the fact that AMD's capital has been pissed away by its management, its cheaper for Intel, in the long run, to have AMD nipping at Intel's heels.

I see this argument a lot and I don't buy it. I think INTC has had its fill of AMD's style of "competition" and will be more than happy to send it on the road to bankruptcy. Even if AMD is sold to a bigger company, they wouldn't likely employ the same idiotic business plan that has been used at AMD the last 20 years.
