Swales Aerospace on Team to Provide Integration Support Services to NASA; Joins SAIC, a.i.solutions in Supporting Prime Contractor Analex Corp. 7/9/02 BELTSVILLE, Md., Jul 9, 2002 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- NASA has awarded a contract with a potential value of $163 million to an industry team including Swales Aerospace to provide Expendable Launch Vehicle Integrated Support (ELVIS) services. Prime contractor on the projected nine-year contract is Analex Corp., a wholly-owned subsidiary of HADRON, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: HDRN), headquartered in Alexandria, Va. "We expect to generate about $15 million over the life of the contract," said Tom Wilson, Chief Executive Officer, Swales Aerospace. "This win is an important step as we continue to expand on our delivery of focused engineering support to key NASA space facilities."
The ELVIS contract involves a broad range of integration services at the Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida, Vandenberg AFB, California and other NASA launch sites. Swales will provide systems engineering and integration support as part of the company's tasks on the contract. The overall contract includes the management, operations and maintenance of facilities, system and equipment, as well as the delivery of technical and administrative support.
The contract became effective on June 1 with a one-month phase-in period that will be followed by a three-year, three-month basic period of performance. Two option periods of three years each are included in the contract which could cover a potential performance period of nine-years and four months.
