How is it that a term that can at least be used to refer to the Supreme Being of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam can be castigated as peculiar to a particular religious tradition? Regardless of commonality, even the broadest interpretation of "establishment" would not recognize a religion called Judeo- Christi- Islam- Ity, nor would so broad a term be associated with the dominant religion. After all, either the dominant religion is Catholicism, because it has the most denominational adherents, or Protestantism, despite the doctrinal disagreements among the various sects. But the term applies equally well to Judaism and Islam, which are tiny minorities in this country........
