Warp,

"Didn't want to use the "punk" in the Clint reference, not on our genteel thread." LOL, reminds me of my intro. to the thread. "genteel" isn't exactly the word that comes to mind. Being an optimist at heart, I'd like to think that attitudes have mellowed toward fellow man (as opposed to just avoiding the debate over wholesale ethnic suppression post-9/11.)

As for trading, JDAS is the lastest poster child for strategies that once were profitible but no longer work. I did very well this year through April playing bounces off of price crashes. Even made $$$ off the worst of dogs, eg, VTSS. Sometimes there would be a strong rebound the same day, sometimes after a couple of days. But it was a high percentage play--as long as one booked profits and didn't stay in the stock too long. "Too long" sometimes was no more than an hour (Hey, kb, you're the English expert, and I'm only an engineer, so I don't know whether it's supposed to be "a" or "an" when written in front of a silent "h." Which is it?) or two.

JDAS looked to me like a candidate for a 10--20% bounce after losing 40% of its value the other day. Instead, it got whacked again last night on RTEK's problems. My only consolation is that I didn't play and have recognized when a strategy is no longer working. But it sure would be nice to have something one could have confidence in trading-wise.

Jim
