do you think its gonna continue slow bleed-slow bleed, for the indexes? I was expecting a huge blow out one of these days, for a few days, but it seems like the water torture is agonizingly effective these days to keep investor hope up and to contain the selling.

I was thinking the same but what happened back in the early 1930s, after the crash of 1929?

It seems there was a bleed AFTER the crash. So if one looks at 2000 as the crash (or start of bear market)-----the first huge decline after hitting 5000, does it mean that a crash is not possible...just like it did not happen in 1930s. Basically a slow bleed until it stops going down.

I don't recall seeing Jeff post some chart that suggested a sudden drop to end the bear of the 1930s...(i could be mistaken though)

Thanks.
