Dave "Gross Margins for both AMD and Intel are in a state of decompression" Intel’s gross margins last quarter were 51% and expected to be 49% this quarter. This is less than the 63% for the quarter ended Dec. 31, 2000. However last quarter AMD gross margin was 35% and expected to be much less in the current quarter. We will have to wait and see because Jerry doesn’t guide on gross margins. Intel margins have held up very well in this recession time, which I think will not continue forever. According to Andy Bryant the full effect of the 300mm fab conversion will take place next year. The point is that when the pc market turns around Intel says they will be ready. You can say the market will never turn around and you may be right. Hey you make your choices.
