patron, It has long been my suspicion that if you buy a stock for its dividend, you are smarter than folks who buy for earnings or sales or cash flow that they never see. However, it's not like dividends can't be rigged. Franklin National had a great dividend and "cash flow" to pay it just before they went belly up and wiped out shareholders. A bit of fraud on that one.

Also, dividends, in general, ain't worth a warm bowl of spit right now. Thank you, Alan Greenspam.
