How smart is GWB? I'm going to put this on the rant thread since it has political implications, but I think that it is relevant toe the market overall. The current administration inherited a rapidly deflating bubble and without laying blame on any presidential administration, the fact is that if the market hasn't started to recover in about 16 months, GWB will be blamed for the sad state of the economy. So my question is "is GWB smart enough to figure out that he needs the market to purge itself sooner rather than later? If efforts are made to continually prop the market up, he will prolong the inevitable and kill any wiggle room for a recovery. Because the public has a short memory, the sooner this market crashes, the less likely that we are to remember the current economic pain....that is, if we have some sort of recovery in play before the next presidential campaigns. Are the things that GWB talked about today going to be enough to correct the economic ills as well as cause the market to capitulate and bottom out? Thoughts?
