Abu Gheith has warned of the death of up to 4 million Americans, including 1 million children, through the use of chemical and biological weapons. cnn.com So where is the deterrence? During the cold war, the US and Russia had mutually assured destruction to prevent the use of weapons of mass destruction. Unfortunately the terrorist threat has been framed quite differently. President Bush has staunchly refused to hold several countries responsible for the terrorism emanating from their country. Because of this the US is in a very precarious spot. There is no deterrence and no one to strike back at. Not a well thought out war situation.
