This is not what it seems to be. Expansion? I don't think so. Cost savings? I am sure labor costs in Scotland, as well as surrounding benefits represent a significant savings for SUNW. Also the educational level is high in Scotland. This provides a vast workforce pool for the high tech industry. Also there can be no criticism or lawsuits when, and if, SUNW must downsize and fire some of the workers. A Scot will not sue or "bitch" because another Scot was let go. US based employees who are let go are the ones who were claiming "foul" over their release verses the foreign nationals working for SUNW. Overall, I think this is good news, since it represents a good "cost savings" alternative. Another factor is the incentives that Scotland most likely will provide in the way of tax benefits.
