Review What Else Is News? By Russell Baker A wonderful essay, Bill. I've been waiting for it to come on line to post it. Thanks. Baker's thesis is an old one--make the news department subordinate to the bottom line and the news department sinks. But he says it with great flair, lets you in any number of interesting media secrets, and runs the flag up, once again, for the NYTimes.
