Hey Jeb, you posted that Clinton had not done anything for the FBI budget on terrorism but that was patently false since he had increased the FBI budget. But below is what the Cheney/Bush/Ashcroft crowd was still doing on 9/10/11. This was documented in a very exhaustive review of the FBI and terrorism during the Clinton and Bush years in the NY Times Sunday, June 2, 2002 paper. Ashcroft was trying to cut the FBI terrorism budget on SEPTEMBER 10, 2001 and this was after the warning to the Treasury Dept types to minimize the use of commercial airlines. Talk about crap!!!!! >>"On September 10, 2001 Ashcroft opposed F.B.I. requests for $58 million for 149 new counterterrorism field agents, 200 intelligence analysts and 54 additional translators. Ashcroft proposed a $65 million cut to a program that gives state and local counterterrorism grants for equipment, including radios and decontamination suits and training to localities for counterterrorism preparedness."<<
