Indiana Republican congressional nominee thinks he has found the next Enron....

wishtv.com

Brose McVey, the Republican nominee for Congress in Indiana's 7th District, today told reporters he believes the serious situation facing AES corporation may well represent another Enron in the making. IPALCO told News 8 it doesn't see the parallel.

"Like many in this community, I have been upset by the actions of AES since it purchased IPALCO. They have reportedly added $750 million in new debt to IPALCO's books to pay for shaky foreign investments, a debt that represents over $1,000 for every man, woman and child in this county," McVey said.

McVey is calling on federal and state regulators to address this issue and protect AES/IPALCO investors and others whose pensions and 401(k) programs depend on AES stock.

McVey faces Congresswoman Julia Carson in the November elections.

Edit: I think the shareholders figured it out a while back. <g>
