How is it that a term that can at least be used to refer to the Supreme Being of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam Not to mention beings of pantheism, Baal worship, Taoism, Greek and Roman religions, and on and on. The langage "under God" or under god -- when spoken there is no distinction, so the speaker can mean whatever he or she wishes to -- doesn't refer to any specific or particular god or gods. IMO, it's all an attempt not to make the government religion-neutral but to make it religion-hostile, which is a very different thing.
