IMHO, I'm pretty sensitive on this point.

If I find an interesting story, I generally post the title; a poignant paragraph; the link; as well as a credit for the source.

That way, other readers can get a sense what the story's about and if it's worthwhile for them to read more. Most people who put up websites *want* you to visit, bookmark and return later. I try to facilitate that.

If the material is a general (non-copyright-able) press release (from AAPL for example) I tend to just post it.

Same if the link is old and has expired.
