Roger, how will you know when the bull has finished his run?

When he has, let me know. :)

There is the danger that if/when the bull market starts winding-down, money will flow to the fringes in desparation. I've noted this effect before - it has tended to happen during pullbacks in this market.

Many of the more speculative stocks have done their best during market pullbacks. When the market runs, though, the money scampers-out into "real" stocks.

This could poison your strategy.

Perhaps when you feel that the bull market is done, it would be best to initially stick with shorting "real" stocks. While it seems counter-intuitive to short stocks with real value, shorting them may - at least initially - be more profitable than shorting more speculative issues that may attract desparate money.
