i guess my going to DSL is inevitable, but need work around the Satellite service weakness, severe weather blacks you out, such as heavy snow ,heavy rain and above all sleet/freezing rain, all problens in the northern zones.
I have cable on all sides of me--Blue Hill has cable, even Deer Isle has cable, but Brooklin through Cape Rozier, no cable, and i think it never will happen,so it's DTV, or nothing.
But blackout threat would require i have a online service with a phoneline line to a broker. Does Schwab have that???
regards DSL via a telephone line, the hard fact is, Verizon, doesn't give a damn about rural areas, i think i wouldhave to have a Presidential order to get Verizon to hook me up, and i am within 1000feet of their little rural switching station, no less:( Max
