I've never thought of myself among those
who believe in a new era in capitulation, but I do believe that we can have our high volume capitulation days (even the 90% days Desmond speaks of)to reach our intermediate term trading bottom without having new lows in many of the gold miners and some of the other small caps that have had big runups this year. Those categories I've just mentioned are partly responsible for John's $NAHL chart looking like it does.

Throwing in the towel on widely held stocks is one thing, but throwing in the towel on illiquid or infrequently traded smallcaps isn't absolutely necessary, IMO.
