| Richard Nixon, one of the few true political visionaries in American history, was among the first to see that what was once a patriotic and loyal opposition had transformed itself into, for all respects and purposes, a fifth column, which did great damage to the already weak American war effort in Southeast Asia. He managed to get the U.S. beyond Southeast Asia geopolitically, and that made him enemy #1 with the left. He attacked them in time-honored WWII fashion, which was a mistake (great men make great mistakes). They got him, but America has been, so far, too powerful to fall to their efforts to destroy it. This treasonous segment of our society will ultimately be defeated, IMO, but there are no guarantees of that victory. 911 went a long way toward resurrecting the diligence of the real America-and thus there is hope... |
