Bloody ugly? No not necessarily.

FWIW my tech I've been dabbling in, which is getting to be a nice dab, is not net in the red. Thanks mainly to ZRAN, but a few others I have not doing bad either. I'm up 30% on ZRAN alone. Several seemed to bottomed. No big losers.

I don't plan to hold long here but I like the action and so far I'm doing okay. If we get just a little rally I do very nicely.

My portfolio is a lot like Sliders at present. I now have some tech for longs, some PM longs, and home builders/financials for hedge shorts. No airlines yet, although some of us up here in AK have been watching Alaska Airlines.

I'm not saying we've reached a final bottom by any means. But tech is getting closer and Slider was right - it was real and I think the time getting closer for a comeback. A tech comeback will rebuild just like the gold bottom did and is a hell of lot closer than it was a few years ago. AND when these stocks move, they move.

No one here made a lot of coin in gold by getting in late. Almost all that did well got in early, took a few lumps, learned the ropes, and stuck it out.

Ready to buy more today, all the time looking over my shoulder at the dollar. Figuring on a nice little rally, whence I take my gains and patiently wait for the next op. If the dollar craps, idios.

Two stocks I'd love to have had off the bottom here but didn't get are TLAB and CIEN. One of these days I'm gonna have a lot of both, so I presently believe. I really like the way these are acting at present.

One thing no one has mentioned - Russia, China, India, and the former Eastern Bloc countries. I don't think they are a as poor as they used to be. Big markets. Chips and technology ain't going to stay in the crapper forever. The present bubble in this area is a lot less of bubble than it was.

It isn't easy diving in a little here. But I remember PM's were a little hard to take for a while too.
