Hi all,

I've been around this board for a long while, and always been a supporter of RATL. Guess not many is around anymore,...

Hope all long time supporters actually made some money during the downturn, but guess otherwise...

So where is RATL now?

* GURU'S GONE (they've now cashed out, and aren't in any way active in the business - if they have in any way they any higher motives - like Grady rushing to get Cristopher Alexanders authograph in OOPSLA - we'll await to see it. Don't think so). This is a disappointment. At the end of the day working for a company - make money / create ideas / invent new models - don't write books and get famous!

* Able sales force. Absolutely. RATL is, and is the only KEY all_time supporter of development tools. They have, a really global force of sales persons, very skillfull in their products and services. RATL have the only yintegrated package, and if you are customer that require ONE sales person to talk to, RATL is the total solutions supplier.

* Global. RATL is a forefront company, they have the tools, and they are globally represented. The difference with the .com (rest in peace) is that Rational has a real business model which can in turn enhance the businesses of other companies. RATL works with the established companies of the world, and not .coms.

* R&D. I think RATL has been a failure at this, relaying on old performances (and the gurus, and internal NIH procedural). Existent tools are improving - absolutely, but I'm (as share holder) looking for NEW thinking! Come'on guys - get rid of the gurus - and think and experience beyond!

At the end of the day, RATL sells complex products - so what could possibly be the enabler for future expansion - if you don't know what you're bying are you going to buy it!? RATL is selling CHANGE - including tools, methods, consultants etc but at the end of the day...

How about TRAINING as an enabler for tools, methods, consultants etc...

Last post in SI ever, I promise...Thank you and goodbye.
