Hate to be the harbinger of bad news, but...

Analyst Fred Hickey calculated that the 17 stocks
making up the Philadelphia Semiconductor index (SOX)
were selling at 52 times estimated 2002 earnings and
30 times 2003 earnings compared to an average P/E of
20 during the decade from 1989 through 1998 (and keep
in mind these are optimistic earnings estimates that
are highly unlikely to be met). All in all this
supports [the view] that a market bottom is not in
place and that a severe washout is still ahead.
