dennis, i highly recommend just trying this diet for 2 weeks. in my case, the change in my energy and sense of well being is as big as the jump between black and white to color.

when i first started it, i felt AWSOME! now, i just feel TERRIBLE when i'm off it.

that is is the true "theory of relativity." -lol-

i'm now 174 lbs - down from 186 since jan. during this time, i've added an addition 12 macadamia nuts worth of monounsaturated fat into my diet daily (over and above meat saturated fat when i get my protein).

the zone is attacked a lot, but it just makes sense.

1. find you lean body mass.
2. based on lean body mass and activity level, find the level of protein required to sustain the body.
3. once protein levels are locked in, carb (fruits and veggies are best!) and fat (preferrably monounsaturated) levels become locked in.
4. eat what you need each day - no more, no less.
5. make adjustments as required.
6. eat right 9 out of 10 times and the 1 out of 10 won't really matter (except i invariably crash and feel bad after too many carbos).

i'm a cynical sob, but this diet really has impressed me - and that ain't easy :-)
