U.S. Wireless Data and NYCE to Offer Wireless Service for ATMs BUSINESS WIRE - July 12, 2002 10:35 NEW YORK, Jul 12, 2002 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- U.S. Wireless Data, Inc. (USWD) (OTC: USWE) and NYCE Corporation have agreed to work together to provide wireless technology as an optional service to NYCE's ATM terminal deploying clients.
For those customers who select this wireless service, NYCE, which processes nearly 100 million electronic transactions each month, will use U.S. Wireless Data's Synapse Adapter(TM) to transmit the wireless transactions through NYCE.
The Synapse Adapter replaces a standard dial-up telephone line, and gives "always-on" access to a wireless data network. By replacing the dial-line connection, it simplifies ATM installation and relocation and helps reduce operating costs for NYCE's ATM deploying clients.
"With Synapse, we can offer our customers a wireless alternative to dial-up that is fast, flexible, and state-of-the-art," said John Berg, Director, Alternative Delivery Services at NYCE. "This enhanced service will facilitate the installation of new off-premises ATMs where a dial-up telecommunications line doesn't make logistical sense. "
"We are proud that NYCE Corporation has selected our technology for wireless ATM transaction processing," said Dean M. Leavitt, Chairman and CEO of U.S. Wireless Data. "NYCE is a great business ally and one of the driving forces in delivering emerging payments solutions to the financial services industry." |
