Henley told the analysts that he "felt" that the worst was over. Henley is generally an optimist (and he has said the same thing about himself repeatedly), so I doubt that it means much. I never saw any context of the quote, but I could imagine that someone pressed him to tell them his opinion and he may well have said that "worst is over" after enough qualifications to make it clear that he was cheerful because lunch was good. So naturally it gets reported as "ORCL CFO SAYS WORST IS OVER!". That said, boy am I happy that the worst is over.
