"I had a houseful last week and my computer allowed access to college for homework and school to get final grades. The function of the computer as an educational tool and the net the provider of the links has ever been in my mind one of the most useful applications of net connection" and
" We live with technology all about us and rarely think of how we interact with it. The past week my computer was used to do home work on a college course then hopped into another nation to obtain grade results. The same computer shares instant pictures of family members in different locations"

And how much do you pay for these benefits? What if we went back to charging by time or by the amount of data was transfered. Would you use it as much? would you wait for the paper copy of the grades to get here? go back to the mail to send photos? Until someone figures out how to make a profit giving you all of these neat services, I dont see how the 'net' is going to blossom. Im not saying we cant make a profit and certianly cost savings from industry already can justify using the net. I think investment opportunities is what we are looking for. finding the companies that make money on the net and expanding the opportunities to make money on the net (maybe ebay?) may tell us what company is using those steam engines for the benefit of shareholder. Thoughts?
