<< If Arik Sharon pulls any bullshit of that nature, I hope GW Bush has the balls to look him in the eye and tell him that if he does any such thing he will have to send in a vacuum cleaner brigade to collect what's left of the IAF from the Iraqi desert, and that his next air force will have to fly in paper airplanes, because we're not going to pay the bill for anything more. >>

I am sure you have already heard of the running joke about America's commitment to Israel. It goes something along these lines: If Israel decided to repeal the Ten Commandments, the US Congress would unequivocally ratify a bill to proclaim our support. I am also willing to place a friendly wager that we will see a budget cut in social security before we see any reduction in Israel's foreign aid.

Unlike the first invasion of Iraq in which there was a clear threat to our national interest (that black stuff buried in the sand), this current "planned" invasion makes very little logistical or political sense. We certainly don't have the same level of commitment or endorsement from our European allies, and there is plenty of ambivalence in this country disguised under the pretense of patriotism.

If George W really wants to widen the scope of the Israeli/Arab conflict in the Mideast then attacking Iraq is the sure ticket. And quite frankly with Sharon's vindictive and callous predisposition in Israel, this conflict can very easily spiral out of control once the chain of events have begun.
