GG...

The big question now is to get together as a team
and again find the one stock to buy....Concentrate all your efforts in what stock you think will appreciate the most in the next market run. Would it still be a gorilla? Would it be a mutual fund?

From the Header:

The G&K Index (GKI) consists of large cap Gorillas and Kings that are broadly and heavily owned by members of the thread. It is not intended to be a comprehensive listing of Gorillas and Kings.

I don't expect to buy a mutual fund ever again, and the very idea of considering one stock or one mutual fund (read: moving portfolio) seem mutually exclusive. It's also a matter of managing my own affairs or turning them over to professional(?) management. I shouldn't say never, because when I get my capital back to some outrageous 8 figure number, I may call it quits and get into a dividend paying high-yield fund, if there is such a thing.

The reason I included the header quote is that there are some of us who do not "heavily" own stock in the G&K list. I am among them because I'm virtually 100% cash, and have been for quite a while.

So, I'm looking for other candidates that, in a more comprehensive G&K list, might offer suitable buying opportunities. I'll mention ADBE as one of those that should be on our list as a G. If anyone would like a mini recap on the company, I'll put one together. UF kids me that I shouldn't tout a stock I don't own, but that's what HUNT reports were all about, the poor man will have to give me my due on that one.

So I'm looking for targets, not target. I want five.

One other thing I'm doing is establishing buy points based on what I feel would be fair TTM values for each. It's hard because not all my targets will get to the point I pick, so I'll miss their lowest points, and some will go lower than my point and make me very nervous.

So far, my targets are ADBE, SEBL, NTAP, and CSCO. I'm still sniffing at GNSS, JDSU, SNDK, and WIND. From my perspective, I feel stuck in a rut of my own making...and I'd love to have some more companies to investigate outside "the box".
