How much more blame could I have put on the public? You've got a good point there... I really didn't start getting into the stock market heavily until 1998. I by and large stayed away from the dot com stuff, the only stock I thought had real growth/staying potential was Ebay... and I unfortunately didn't have the free capital to buy at the IPO. I recommended it to a friend who turned a nice little profit though (maybe I should talk to him about a commission... lol). I know a lot of people who were chasing madly after each IPO when it came around... Geocities was one of the most entertaining ones, with all of their ridiculous "branding" schemes to create a name for themselves. Unfortunately the melt-down of the dot coms spilled over into technology as a whole, and nailed companies with real products and real earnings...
