But where we will really get hurt is by losing an advantage over the Long Term Bag Holders. As long as they think they are getting a real bargain they will be scooping up our shares as fast as we can exercise 'em.

Somebody is going to fleece 'em. Might as well be us.


Thanks for echoing the conventional wisdom. I have to agree, if the financial folks who are receiving stock options are simply doing the same job as usual working 9-5, hanging out on SI all day, with a highly lucrative options package, then overregulation of this scam is probably in the best interest of everybody.

Unfortunately engineering seems to have a different mantra. We ask senior engineers, who are capable of making say 200-300K in the open market as consultants, to take a 100K pay package with options, while they are expected to put in 6-day workweeks 10hrs/day.

Can we implement a 2-tier expensing program? Overexpense all the financial people and accurately expense all the engineers? L
