It's ok, Ted. You're a good guy on these forums. AMD just isn't for me right now. It's also MHO that creating a mainboard group would be a strain on resources. They may already have a team available for creating reference designs, but to really compete in the mainboard market, you have to have a whole line of designs and differentiating features. Otherwise, you don't penetrate more than a small share of the market, and then, what's the point? AMD either wants this as a money making business, or something strategic, and either way, they would need enough market share to make it worth while, and in order to get share in the mainboard market, they'll need much more than their reference design. And then we've come full circle to my argument that it would cost AMD more money to create this business than they could get back from it. Therefore, it doesn't make good business sense, especially after harsh losses in their other businesses are sure to make the company want to tighten their belts.
