Don. As you well know, one should always consider the source in evaluating new information. This rings especially true in the case of controversial issues such as who's got the fastest, biggest, meanest, longest ... anything, ... no matter how insignificant.
And it is well known that comparative measures of performance by their very nature are divisively dramatic crowd pleasers. Throughout History the relative performance of two opposing entities has, time and time again, provided a single focusing point of conflict that can completely polarize amorphous fragmented throngs of people into taking one side or the other.
And in each and every case, regardless of which side the individuals who make up these throngs take, their belief is that the other side is always wrong, biased, opinionated, wishful thinking or selectively reporting the facts in order to prop up their weakened position. It's great theatre. It's great drama. And, it's great to find out the answer at the conclusion of the rivalry.
Unfortunately, every comparative measure ends with both a winner and a looser. I know you were rootin' for the other side, so all I can say is "Tough luck kid! Mebbie next time."
