Dan, I have often wonderered about the legality of giving a prica advantage to Dell. I am sure they muddy the waters with advertising rebates, so the face cost of the parts looks the same....just in case the DOJ comes knocking.

Dell has to sell to a multifaceted market and I am sure they get some total morons as buyers that lead to service complaints. Some people just make a fake noise to get a refund. Hard to say if the problems are true of moron mediated.

We have seen a movement to a vertical market in every industry as it becomes commoditised. The Dell/Intel axis is a possible vertical entity, as they seem to act that way. AMD can go vertical, so can Intel, and Via. A bit harder for a box maker, as they have to eat a CPU maker.

The only CPU maker dell can eat is AMD. AMD can go vertical by making mobos and then boxes.

dell is now findint it has some DDR price problems as it buys on the spot.
That may impact the 3rd/4th quarter

Bill
