Politics can move mountains and also water. The Corps is the tool that ultimately does the work - good or bad. It's up to the people that understand the environmental issues and who will vote that can force the politicians to consider whether or not that vote is important to their re-election.

We have State Politicians with their names on dams and hiways. They got there because voters at that time were proud of their new road system - that is before much of it literally tore up natural picturesque landscapes after which the developers moved right in behind with the bulldozers or when the fish didn't come up river and spawn anymore when the dam was built.

I guess the Bush's are going to leave off shore drilling alone in Florida. Wonder why?

Of course, what this board is currently struck by is the pollution of our investments by crooked means of some crooked corporate officers who decided on their own that shareholders didn't count(and couldn't vote). All those options were just chum for the insiders and the big fish that got away with all of it.
