Any President who isn't a lawyer is superior at the outset. It's not that lawyers are bad; it's that they are trained to argue positions they don't believe in. That sometimes morphs into arguing for the wrong side. They are trained to win, and that's what they try to do even if it's wrong.

I might even speculate that the 'arguing' leads to an abstracted morality. Right and wrong are completely lost. It becomes purely a semantics game. But that doesn't appear to be limited to lawyers. Arthur Anderson and various CEOs and boards did a fairly good job at removing themselves from any context of right or wrong.
