$165B doesnt count off-balance sheet federal expenses
as layoffs mount, tax payroll receipts will drop next year
off-balance sheet stuff now will be highly secretive
military and security expenses are accelerating

White House budget director Mitch Daniels said deficits should gradually shrink, with a $53 billion surplus returning by 2005.

these guys are utter clowns
I know one guy from my old church in Lexington MAss
he was with DRI in LexMA
and went on to the Office Mgmt Budget
great guy, very sharp
I wonder how much political pressure he must endure now to come up with the numbers he is ordered to forecast
the economics profession is in disgrace

I expect an accleration in federal deficits
by 2004 it should be over $1 trillion annually
and the USdollar will be in crisis mode freefall
