<Can you see:
-a softening of the radical Muslim leaders in the future?
-will it take a lot more war to get there?>

... by definition radicals are not "soft" and therefore they will probably not become non-radical which is what the first part of your question implies.

The second part of your question is much more complicated to me... and that is whether the existing non-radical elements can gain back control over the radical elements and what are we prepared to do to get that to happen.

- is war the answer? To me, war is never the answer in an ideal world. Whether that is the only thing that could be done to activate the process of repressing the radicals and bringing the non-radicals to the fore-front remains to be seen.

- I think what Israel is doing to occupy terrorists breeding grounds as long as the attacks continue seems to be a good course of action. But that is merely an observation based on the results from those actions.

Terrorism, by it's very nature, is anarchism incarnate, no matter what people say, IMHO. It is a threat to the civilized world and there needs to be a response by all civilized nations in the world. Until terrorism is not tolerated by any nation, the threat will continue!!!

IMHO
