Paul, your comments will be greatly appreciated.

markets such as PC and telecomm chips suffer from over-supply was
primarily due to the fact that a lot of business is from "corporations."
in the corporate market, "PRICE" is a less driving factor for "SALES."

although a lot of these PC and related equipments have come down
in price (and so did the chips accordingly), sales was not stimulated
because basically the corporations are saturated with such systems.

whereas, a market in consumer electronics will be driven by reduced
price, risk of supply/demand glut is reduced. in this type of market,
rate of price drop corresponds to a certain percentage of rate of
increase in demand.

is such assumption valid ?

if consumer electronics sales will be stimulated by reduced unit price,
then i believe specialty chip makers such as c-cube microsystem and
chips & technologies will do real well in the booming digital video market.
where a large number of MPEG and LCD controller chips will be needed.
comments appreciated. your comments have always been valuable.
thanks in advance.
