Arrogant? Nay, just certainly heartfelt. As you say, your apology was weak, though accepted. What, you expect me to offer you a weak apology in return? Had I falsely accused you, I'd offer you a strong apology. However, it's the case that often one party to a disagreement is solely guilty. It was such a case. That you feigned ignorance of your well noted slander, was no saving grace, and earned you the POS label.
I don't hate government, I just understand what it can't do.
I don't "prefer a society of people running amuck...," more anarchy in my life is hardly a wish of mine(though you laughingly think it my "obvious" belief. You are too absurd).
Consider: Would you prefer all individuals be economically free to make up their lives as they go along, or a few privledged folks called Presidents & Congressmen making rules up as they go along, which greatly subjugate all the rest of us(and at the behest of a few wealthy lobbyists, etc.)? I'd choose the former. Our Constitution was clearly designed to promote the former. Our Constitution provides for fine justice to protect against anarchy, "running amuck," and evil doers in general. It has worked well, save in protecting itself from the lingering belief ingrained over at least 6000 years that we need our big government we're accustomed to, to protect us(such never worked well, and it's time to evolve).
That 260 million American minds know more about what's needed in their lives than a few minds in congress ever will, pretty much sums up why
