NITT, When you have a person by the b*lls, his heart and mind will follow.
If the bottom CPU price is upped by $100 and the high end xeon stays the same and all in between are straight lined, they will buy or go out of business. Sales might drop a little, but at the bottom the CPU price is ~20-25% of the cost and it fals from there. An extra $100 would make it 25-35%, or so, and while it would chill a few low end sales, all higher levels would not be as impacted and the ASP would climb by $75 or so. A nice bit of change.
